CONTRADICTORIES- All and Some Not
No and Some
Contradictories cannot be true at the same time. If one is true then other must be false. That means if “All birds are small is true” then, “Some birds are not small” is always false. Also it should have same subject and predicate.
SUB ALTERN- Truth downwards but false upwards.
SUB CONTRARIES- Some and Some Not are sub contraries. Both sub contraries can be true at the same time, but they can’t be false together.
CONTRARIES- All and No are contraries. All and No can’t be true at the same time but, they can be false at the same time.
Square of Opposition is used for some reverse syllogism questions and also for some tricky questions.
